As mentioned in our previous newsletter, 2021-2022 marked the start of our preschool full day program and the opening of L’Ecole French School Elementary. Our goal is to continue offering the French language and to add the English language starting in K. We aim to offer a rich curriculum to our bilingual learners to develop their cultural awareness and assure a high level of academic achievement. Our kindergarten and first grade teachers, Elizabeth and Ariane, have tackled the great task of building the program from the ground up and poured their heart into this project. From furnishing the classrooms, to sharing their expertise in French and American education and writing an innovative curriculum, they have worked tirelessly for months to welcome our first elementary students.
L’Ecole is undeniably dynamic and we are taking advantage of our momentum to keep providing more options to our families and community. We have spent the last couple of weeks working on the 2022-2023 school year. Imagining what it could be and defining our objectives and values. We are proud to announce the opening of second and third grade classes this coming September.

The energy was palpable on November 18th when L’Ecole opened its doors to welcome the French community for a social gathering. L’Ecole, The French Alliance and The Chamber of Commerce joined forces to host the Beaujolais Nouveau event and recognize our benefactor Anne Faircloth during an evening of gratitude and celebration. Teachers, board members, parents, business owners and francophiles could be seen happily chatting around the fire pits. It reminded us how L’Ecole is a key social element to the lives of so many families and how much we enjoy those gatherings.
Let’s recognize L’Ecole’s drive and nurture it for years to come!
